Facilitated Workplace Peer Resource Groups

Build Confidence and Reduce Isolation through Shared Experiences and Practical Guidance
The past few years have been tough for many employees and their families. The COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent recovery has added unprecedented stress. Life events such as parenting, caring for elderly parents, or dealing with loss can be overwhelming. When employees are feeling isolated or don't have anyone to turn to, it’s invaluable for them to know that they are not alone.

Peer resource groups offer a safe and supportive space for employees and their family members who share common experiences to connect, support one another, and build a sense of belonging, hope and direction. Through the power of peer support, we can help each other navigate life’s challenges and find the strength and resilience to move forward.

Each Peer Resource Group focuses on a specific topic such as parenting teens, grief and bereavement or being a caregiver.   The group meets weekly with each virtual session including a brief psycho-educational component related to the topic followed by group discussion and then open dialogue.

Participation during each group session is voluntary, but encouraged. Enrollment is open and ongoing.

When discussing personal topics, it’s vital for employees to feel that their safety and trust are maintained. It’s important that everyone is heard and supported respectfully and confidentially. The groups are facilitated by a dedicated, experienced mental health clinician, who has training and expertise in managing group dynamics and regulating boundaries to ensure the conversations are appropriate, supportive and encouraging towards taking action.

Facilitated Workplace Peer Resource Groups are an adjunct to your mental health benefits and programs.  They demonstrate to employees that you care about them and their families’ well-being and are committed to supporting them as they navigate life’s challenges.

HR and Leaders often are not aware of the challenges their employees are dealing with.  By offering Employee Resource Groups ongoing throughout the year, ensures that employees and their families have support if and when they need it.
